"Peace, stability and development in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of Equatorial Guinea's priorities during its membership in the Security Council, so the Government of President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is resolutely committed to supporting and exercise a constructive role in the peace process in this great Central African country of the Great Lakes, and of Southern Africa ", has begun by declaring the Ambassador Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Anatolio Ndong Mba, during the meeting that served as occasion so that the room listened to the reports and orientations on the present humanitarian situation in this African country, plunged in the crisis.

In the presence of the Secretary General of the National Episcopal Conference of the DRC, Abbe Donatien Nsholo, Equatorial Guinea, has underlined that the complete normalization of the political situation in this brotherly country will be complicated if the data on the humanitarian situation continue to be so devastating. "Internally displaced people surpass four and a half million people, the highest number in all of Africa. More than 13 million people depend on humanitarian aid to survive while more than 7 million are under severe food insecurity, and more than 2 million children in a state of malnutrition, very alarming figures that should attract the attention of the international community for the urgent liberation of humanitarian aid, otherwise, the consequences would be much more catastrophic, "said Ndong Mba, accompanied by Job Obiang Esono Mbengono, and other officials of the Permanent Mission.

At another time, the representation of our country has lamented the fact that cases of violations and abuses of human rights are rising increasingly and worryingly, where most cases remain unpunished and their protagonists roaming freely with a high probability that they reoffend in their acts. The resurgence of violence in the province of Ituri has also been evoked by the Equato-Guinean diplomat, who, as he has pointed out, contributes enormously to the deterioration of the situation, demanding that the authors of these horrendous crimes confront the action of justice.

The intervention of our country has been concluded with the ratification of the outcome of the thirtieth conference of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union last January 2018, and the communiqué issued after the tripartite meeting held in Kinshasa between The Presidents of Congo, DRC and Angola, thanks to it, Equatorial Guinea celebrates the progress that is observed in the DRC's political process, reiterating both the government and the main opposition parties to resolve their differences through a frank and inclusive dialogue, to achieve peace, stability and development of that country.
