- "Article 65 of the Basic Law establishes that the opening and closing of each period of sessions, both primary and extraordinary, are agreed by decree of the President of the Republic, in agreement with both chambers.

In use of the powers conferred on me by the legal body indicated above, I have:
-Article 1: Under this decree the celebration of the constituent session and the opening and closing of the first regular session of the National Parliament, which covers the upper and lower House, is scheduled for next Friday, January 12 at the city of Malabo, capital of the nation, according to the presented agenda.

-Article 2: The National Parliament itself is also empowered to close said regular session once the corresponding agenda has been exhausted.
This is what I am arranging for this decree, given in Malabo, on 9 days of the month of January of the year 2018.

For a better Guinea,
Obiang Nguema Mbasogo,
Republic President".
